Fake gambling is upon us.
Please see the DRAFT of the 2010-11 UFFSB Rules and Regs below. Same principles as last year, with a few new twists:
Rule 1 - Entry Fee
Entry fee is $30 for the year. Send directly to:
Mike Shade
1706 Foxhall Ln
Greensboro, NC 27410
Deadline for entry is Week 3. If you miss the deadline, you will stop getting weekly allowances until you're paid up.
Rule 2 - Winnings
The Unified Fund has 15 players this year - the top 5 will be compensated in some way for their efforts.
Payouts will be as follows:
1st place - $200.
2nd place - $100.
3rd place - $70.
4th place - $50.
5th place - $30.
Rule 3 - Allowances
PRESEASON: Each competitor will receive $500 fantasy dollars to bet on Future bets. Any money not bet before the start of the regular season will be lost.
REGULAR SEASON: EVERY 4 WEEKS (Before week 1, 5, 9, 13, and 17) each competitor will receive $400 fantasy dollars to bet with, provided the competitor complies with weekly betting regulations (see rule 6). Any winnings add to your balance and can be used the following week. Winnings cannot be used within the same week.
POSTSEASON: Allowances STOP at the end of the regular season. The competitor with the most fantasy dollars at the end of the year wins.
Rule 4 - Lines
Lines will be posted on Wednesday of every week to this site. (Games that are not yet handicapped by Wednesday will be posted as they become available.)
Rule 5 - Picks
Picks must be emailed to unifiedfund@yahoo.com before 1 p.m. EST on Sunday. If you send picks after the allotted time, your picks will be voided, you will be sent a harsh letter of denial, and may God have mercy on your soul. Once I have received all picks, I will post to the Unified Fund website for all to see.(If you choose to wager on a Thursday night contest, the email must be received before 8:15 p.m. Eastern Time, before kickoff. Same goes for any games played on Saturday.) Winnings are not eligible for use until the following week. (i.e - you can't bet a Thursday game and use winnings on that Sunday's game.)
As long as you do not bet with winnings from that week, Monday night bets will be accepted before kickoff.
Rule 6 - Betting regulations
Each competitor must wager on at least 3 games per week - this has been reduced from 4 last year. If no picks are received or a competitor places any less bets than 3, the competitor will forfeit $100 fantasy dollars. (The 3 bet minimum is for Regular Season only - there will be no minimums in post-season play) Minimum bet is $10 unless otherwise posted. The MAXIMUM number of games you can bet on per week is 8.
Rule 7 - Reg. Season Performance Bonuses NEW
- To simplify the rules, multipliers have been removed.
- Winning % Bonus: This has been completely overhauled after seeing last year's results. At the end of the Regular season, the competitor with the BEST winning percentage will receive $500. (Minimum bets = 5o throughout year...also known as the "Hall Corollary"). In addition, the following % bonuses will also be awarded to any competitor who reaches them:
>70% = $1,000
>60% = $800
>50% = $500
>40% = $200
Rule 8 - Available bets
Regular Season: Point Spreads, Over/Under, Player Props, 1 optional 3-team Parlay
Playoffs: Point Spreads, Moneylines, Over/Under, Player Props, Parlays, and anything else we can think of. I
These Rules and Regulations will officially go into effect upon sign-off from the competitors.
Until then, let's keep it sweaty.

i don't know who HALL is, but i suspect his corollary is hilarious
ReplyDeleteThe Hall Corollary is based on a tradition unlike any other - Hall not turning in his picks. It happened thousands of times last year, which is difficult to do in a 17-week season. I applaud Hall for his commitment to apathy.
ReplyDeleteI care not for Hall's assumed excuses like "I just had a kid so this is not the highest priority right now". That's horse$!*#. I want excuses like "My kid didn't get fed tonight because I was busy checking injury reports."
