After talking this through and sharing feedback with many of the founding fathers, I think we have a final plan in place for what could be the greatest League of all time. Before I get into the details, I want to send a special shout-out to the Godfather. Without you Mitch, I wouldn't be here. I'd probably be dead. Lying face down in a drained pool somewhere.
With that, here you are. The 2008-2009 Fantasy Sportsbook Rules and Regulations.
Rule 1. Entry fee is $20, payable to winning parties after the Super Bowl. Season starts this week (week 11) and ends with the Super Bowl. Each week, each competitor will receive $100 fantasy dollars to bet with. Any winnings add to your balance and can be used the following week. The competitor with the most fantasy dollars at the end of the year wins.
Rule 2. It looks like we'll have 10 players. If so, 1st place will receive $140. 2nd place will receive $40. 3rd will get their money back.
Rule 3. Lines will be posted on Wednesday of every week to this site. (Games that are not yet handicapped by Wednesday will be posted as they become available.)
Rule 4. Picks must be emailed to shadepalmer@yahoo.com before 1 p.m. on Sunday (Eastern Time for those of you on the Left Coast). If you send picks after the allotted time, your picks will be voided, you will be sent a harsh letter of denial, and may God have mercy on your soul. Once I have received all picks, I will post to the Unified Fund website for all to see.
Rule 4-b. If you choose to wager on a Thursday night contest, the email must be received before 8:15 p.m. Eastern Time, before kickoff. Same goes for any games played on Saturday.
Rule 5. Each competitor must wager on at least 4 games per week. If no picks are received or a competitor places any less bets than 4, the competitor will forfeit the weekly $100 fantasy dollars. There is no maximum number of games a competitor can bet on. (The 4 bet minimum is for Regular Season only - there will be no minimums in post-season play)
Rule 6. Minimum bet is $10.
Rule 7. For the Regular Season, only point spreads will be available. Once the playoffs begin, moneylines (picking a team to win outright) will also be available. For the Super Bowl, the point spread, moneyline, over/under, and maybe even a prop bet or two will be available.
Rule 8. For any complaints, please contact Eller, who is serving as Chairman of the Complaints Committee, or fill out an official complaint form at: www.unifiedfundcomplaints.com/ellermadetarameow/dagger/ruined.html.
So, that's it boys. If there are any questions or I missed something, please comment on this post or send me an email.
Lines will be out there tomorrow...or maybe even tonight, if I get froggy.
I love you all deeply.
